Marvel released the following image today, accompanied by ordering information for Amazing Spider-Man #641, which goes on sale next month:

That’ll be a new direction that includes ex-wife/not-really-because-it-was-wished-away-thanks-to-the-Devil Mary-Jane Watson, apparently; the solicitation for the next issue includes the line “With Peter Parker’s ONE MOMENT IN TIME behind him and Mary Jane back in his life, Spidey finds himself ready for a new start…” That start doesn’t arrive until November’s relaunch of the series, but with the current “One Moment In Time” storyline revealing just what was said to make the marriage go away in the first place and giving Peter and Mary-Jane a chance to work out unresolved issues, I have to wonder… Marvel wouldn’t try and placate fans/get other fans riled up by getting the couple back together, would they…? I mean, marriage may be off the table, but who’s to say a long, long, long-term engagement might not end up back on by the end of the storyline…? After all, the November relaunch is supposed to feature Peter trying to get his life in order and forge himself a longterm career… Doesn’t that sound like what a man who’s planning for a future with his new wife would do?
