Tomorrow is new comics day and here are some new comics that you should pick up. This week we have a nice mix of series and story finales combined with some promising Issue Number One’s. Check em out and come back later this week for more comics coverage with Panel of the Week and the Comic Book Club.

The Last Phantom #1
It’s a new take on an old, old character. This Phantom is the latest (and last presumably) of a long line of pulpy vigilantes to bear the name and the purple tights. If you can shake the stink of the 1996 flick starring Billy Zane this could be a good read.

Image United #3
It’s the crossover of the century! This might only be true in the literal sense as the shipping schedule feel like it will take a hundred years. For those of you who don’t remember the feature of this series is that every character in this book is drawn by the original artist. It makes for some very jarring panels as conflicting styles clash on the page. I can’t even remember what the plot is, something about defeating evil maybe?

Ex Machina #50
This fantastic title is wrapping up with issue number 50. Mayor Mitchell Hundred finishes his first and only term as Mayor of New York facing off against unspeakable tragedy. As we learn more about the nature of his power to talk to machines New York City’s citizens are tearing each other apart. This final issue is double sized and when it’s all over I am going to miss my old friend Ex Machina.

Avengers and the Infinity Gauntlet #1
I don’t know if this is a retelling of the Infinity Gauntlet story or a sequel of sorts but it’s the Avengers versus Thanos. This sort of cosmic hooha isn’t something I usually feel the need to read (again) but this time around it’s written by Brian Clevinger. That’s the writer behind 8 Bit Theater and Atomic Robo and if anyone has earned a right to whip out some Spider-Man one liners it’s Brian. I can’t wait to see what kind of antics he comes up with for a glove that can basically grant any wish.

Hulk #24
Is it over? Is War of the Hulks finally over? According to the previews this is the final chapter. It’s Red Hulk vs Hulk (one more time) in another knock down drag out on the steps of the White House. The War has been a long trip with some very frustrating plot lines but McGuiness is hands down my favorite Hulk artist so I’ll see it through.
