Will Iron Man Writers Finally Make A Good Ninja Turtles Movie?

Here’s a worrying possibility: What if Paramount’s reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle franchise is actually good? Deadline Hollywood is reporting that the studio is taking the idea very seriously, as they’re hoping to turn the pizza-loving martial-arts-loving mutated reptiles into “the next Transformers.” With Michael Bay producing, that’s not a surprise, but this is: The studio has brought on Art Marcum and Matt Holloway – the men behind the original Iron Man script – to mastermind the movie, with an eye on pushing it through quickly for a 2012 release.

Marcum and Holloway are no strangers to resurrecting franchises; in addition to Iron Man, they’ve just written a Highlander reboot, to be directed by Justin Lin next year. But if they can work their magic on TMNT, the turtles may finally have their first good movie after four failed attempts. We can but hope.
