First Klingon Opera Debuts Next Month

Yep, you read that right. Earth’s first Klingon opera will premiere in The Netherlands in September.

Organizers of the Star Trek-themed show, u, have been working on the project for three years, and with help from Klingon creator Mark Orkrand, have even extended an inter-galactic invitation to the Klingon race. (Yes, really.) The show’s creator Floris Schönfeld, head of the KlingonTerranResearchEnsemble, presented u festival goers at this year’s FedCon 2010, noting the show’s authenticity and the important role of opera to the Klingon race. Looks like we even have some Klingon instruments thrown into the mix.

I can’t wait for the off-Broadway run.
