Tony Pacitti is a diehard Star Wars fan. Though it may make him a social outcast in the eyes of the mainstream (and a geek God in the nerddom), he’s managed to take his awkward experiences growing up and turn them into a memoir that everyone can relate to.

In My Best Friend is a Wookiee: A Memoir, One Boy’s Journey To Find His Place, Pacitti parallels Princess Leia to the girl who rejected him and Storm Troopers to mud-slinging bullies that tormented him in grade school. Most people won’t know what hyperdrive class the Millenium Falcon had, but they can relate to rejection, loss and the feeling of ultimate satisfaction when something finally goes as planned. The book comes out on September 18.
