Cue up all of your “No More Heroes” puns, because it’s looking like NBC is passing on the possibility of some kind of TV movie/mini-series wrap-up to canceled superhero series Heroes after all. Entertainment Weekly cites what they call “a key source” and reports that the peacock network doesn’t seem interested in any continuation of its one-time hit series after all, despite rumors to the contrary earlier this summer.
What this means to the longterm chances of the franchise’s survival remains unclear; given that DC Comics has already published two collections of the series’ tie-in webcomics, I’m surprised that no comic book continuation has already been announced, a la Dark Horse’s Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season 8. Maybe there really aren’t enough people interested in saving the cheerleader and/or the world these days after all…?
