If you’ve been looking for a simple way to send HTML e-mail from your iPhone, MarkdownMail ($1.99) may be the answer. The application makes use of a simplified coding syntax developed by John Gruber known as Markdown, which it leverages to quickly create things like hyperlinks, bolded words, italicized words, bulleted lists, headings, and more.

For example, the following Markdown code would result in the HTML e-mail found after it.

Markdown:

## Arrrgh!!!

You guys are *seriously* a bunch of **jerks**. If you need me, I’ll be reading [Techland](http://www.techland.com).

HTML E-mail Message:

Arrrgh!!!

You guys are seriously a bunch of jerks. If you need me, I’ll be reading Techland.

You’re able to preview your finalized messages before sending them, too, which is a good thing. After all, you’re looking to let all those jerks know that your displeasure has reached a stage that requires HTML-level emphasis.
