JetBlue Finally Getting Fleet Wide Wi-Fi, But Not for a While

JetBlue will be getting Wi-Fi on all 160 of its airplanes. Hooray!

Installation won’t even begin until the end of 2012. What? Boo! We’ll all be telepathic by then. Who needs the internet?

JetBlue struck a deal with a telecom company called ViaSat, according to the Associated Press. The report indicates that the deal is to install both satellite internet service as well as satellite TV service.

JetBlue currently offers satellite TV service from DirecTV on its flights, so it’ll be interesting to see if this is merely an equipment upgrade or if the airline will be using a different TV service in the future.
