New Wii Remote Plus on the Way?

Nintendo’s got a history of rolling out new accessories or add-ons with new game releases. Think back to 1997 and the vibrating Rumble Pak bundled in with Star Fox 64. More recently, they’ve done the same thing with the Wii Zapper and Link’s Crossbow Training and have included the Wii Wheel with Mario Kart Wii.

Now, it seems like they’re repeating the pattern with the upcoming FlingSmash, bundling in a new controller called a Wii Remote Plus with it. The input device appears to have the same enhancing technology as the Wii Motion Plus add-on built into the familiar form factor of the Wii Remote.

I’d wondered why FlingSmash was being played up so heavily by Nintendo at E3 this year and apparently this is the answer. FlingSmash comes out in November.
