Samsung Galaxy Tab Video Shows Everything (Except Price)

I have a sneaking suspicion that Samsung’s doing everything in its power to get people all whipped up for this 7-inch Galaxy Tab that’s due out soon, but is purposely withholding price details until the last minute because it’s going to be more expensive than expected.

You’ll recall that it’ll be available from all four major US wireless carriers, which suggests it’ll require a two-year contract for some sort of data plan in order to get the subsidized pricing.

If I were a betting man, I’d guess the price would be somewhere in the $250 to $300 range for the tablet itself. Once you add in two years of data service, though, it’ll cost a lot more. Even assuming you could use AT&T’s $15 per month plan, which offers 200 megabytes of data, the total cost would still be between $610 and $660 when all is said and done.

That’s all speculation, though, and there will apparently be a Wi-Fi-only version available as well. If that one’s priced any higher than $500, Samsung’s likely looking at a long, cold winter.

At any rate, the company has released the following 9+ minute video demo of the Galaxy Tab that "doesn’t contain any graphic effects" and is meant "to objectively present key features and benefits" of the tablet.
