Being Human Releases First Pictures of US Version

The other highly anticipated supernatural themed show starting up (besides The Walking Dead, of course) is the American remake of BBC’s Being Human. Other shows from across the pond like The Office or Extras have translated well to American audiences. Some even say the American version of The Office is better than the original – okay, that is a debatable issue.

We’re hoping that Being Human will be the next big British hit. The show, which revolves around a vampire, a ghost and a werewolf who all live together, is set to air on Syfy tentatively next summer 2011. The first promotional pictures show Sam Witwer, best known as Davis Bloome/Doomsday from Smallville and Starkiller from LucasArts’ The Force Unleashed games, Sam Huntington from Fanboys and Superman Returns and Meaghan Rath in their eerie glory, although we are a little confused why Rath looks so solid. Some of these pictures scream Twilight and the others say True Blood all over it. What direction do you think this show should go in?

I don’t know why there has to be an American version. The British version is great. I think a lot of Being Human fans are going to have a hard time with this one…and any new fans–well I have no problem unless the orginal version ends up getting the boot because of this new one.
