Fritz Lieber’s Conjure Wife chronicles a husband’s slow realization that his wife (and many others in the community) are using magic on their men, a gender reversal on the Stepford Wives tale. It’s one of the first novels from an author who would write award-winning horror and science fiction into the 1970s.
