Many have wondered what it would take for countries to put aside their problems and just work together towards a common goal, but few suspected that the answer would be a cult anime series from the late 1980s. Bubblegum Crisis, the animated series that ran for just eight episodes in 1987, is being resurrected as a live-action 3D movie by an international team that involves financing from Australian, Canadian, Chinese, English, and Japanese sources. The movie – Officially called Knight Sabres: Bubblegum Crisis – will be shot in 3D, and will apparently be written and directed by Anthony La Molinara, who’s previously worked on the visual effects for the first two Spider-Man movies. Shooting begins next May, in China.
