NBC Cancels Undercovers

Proving that there’s no such thing as a sure thing in television, NBC has just pulled the plug on Undercovers, the JJ Abrams-produced spy drama that debuted this season and was seen by many to be the show that would finally put Chuck out of its misery (Chuck, meanwhile, has been given a full season order for its fourth year, again defying expectations). The news comes after ratings for last night’s episode hit another series low; the show will air another three episodes before it is pulled, and it’s unknown at this time what will happen to the remaining completed episodes.

I suppose NBC had its reasons (possibly having to do with the expense of all those exotic foreign locales), but I’m sorry to see a show get the ax when it was so good at showing a married couple really devoted to and supportive of each other instead of squabbling all the time. And the Blooms obviously liked sex a lot, something else that TV has been all too squeamish about. Plus which, they were just utterly gorgeous to look at.

    That show was still on?

BTW, @richardsrussell, all those exotic locales were likely parts of the greater LA area just like Alias.
