In early September, Google unveiled its new "Google Instant" search initiative. If you’ve been using Google Instant in your computer’s web browser, you’ll have noticed that your search results change and update in real-time as you type your search terms.

The same feature is now available for iPhone and Android devices, though its usefulness is limited somewhat by the resolution of your phone’s screen. Here’s a screen capture from an iPhone 3GS:

Between the search box and the on-screen keyboard, there’s basically one visible search result that updates and changes in real time. That’s thanks to the iPhone 3GS’ 480×320 screen—newer phones with 800×480-and-higher resolutions won’t have quite the same level of obstruction.

The feature can be turned on or off by going to Google.com on your phone.
