New Tron Trailer Shows Off Scary Virtual Jeff Bridges

Here’s yet another new trailer (This one, for British audiences) for next month’s Tron: Legacy, this time setting up all the backstory you need to understand Disney’s revival of the 20+ year franchise and, in the process, giving the best look we’ve had so far at the CGI-deaged Jeff Bridges… and I have to admit: He’s kind of freaking me out. I don’t know what’s more distracting, his hair or his dead, dead eyes. Still, I guess we now know whether or not CGI is up to perfectly replicating live action now.

Tron: Legacy is released December 16th.

Is anyone else getting dark knight/inception/shutter island vibes off the tron score?

That’s what you call making the uncanny valley work FOR you, not against you.

@stranglesquad – this isn’t the score yet. It’s an extreme rarity that any trailers use the actual score from the movie – usually it’s music either lifted from other movies, or composed specifically for use in trailers. Inception’s trailer music, for example, was composed by Zack Hemsey, and I wouldn’t be surprised if this is more of his work.

And yeah, I agree with richardsrussell – they aren’t trying to render a person. They’re trying to render an advanced computer rendering of a person. He’s supposed to be unsettling and offputting.
