We may not like him when he’s angry, but with Guillermo del Toro and Battlestar Galactica producer David Eick now announced as the people bringing Marvel’s Incredible Hulk to ABC, it’s a fair chance that we’ll like him no matter what mood he’s in. Deadline broke the news yesterday that Eick and del Toro will be producing the new series for Marvel TV, with Eick writing the pilot script and del Toro possibly directing.

According to the site, the new series will reboot the franchise, instead of following what’s been set up in the movies. The television Banner will be younger and “less reactive” than his movie or comic counterpart, and the television Hulk will be a mix of CGI, prosthetics and, oddly, puppetry that will be designed with del Toro’s input. The series is being targeted to launch after Marvel’s Avengers movie, so expect a fall 2011 premiere on ABC.
