Zynga, the company behind wildly popular Facebook games such as FarmVille and FrontierVille, has announced that CityVille will be rolling out “in the coming weeks.”

Zynga is calling CityVille its “most social game to date.” You’ll be able to build your own city complete with roads, houses, schools and more (a la Sim City) and conduct business with neighboring cities made by your friends.
Per the company’s press release:
“Visit your neighbors’ cities to help them secure more energy, decorations and collectible items. Be a good buddy by helping friends accelerate crop growth, expedite shipping times and construct buildings faster. Send them gifts to finish city service buildings and clear ground for them to build on. You can even own something in a friend’s city.”

The game will be free to play on Facebook. You can sign up to get notified when it’s ready to play at CityVille.com.
