New Epic Mickey Trailer Revisits Lost Disney History

Mickey Mouse’s return to video games comes out next week and Disney Interactive Studios has released a new trailer that talks about how the Junction Point dev studio used their access to the Disney vaults. (More on Techland: Mickey Mouse’s Older Brother Gets the Spotlight in New Game Trailer)

The best part of this clip is watching iconic game designer Warren Spector nerd out over his love of all things Disney. The mention of Mickey having forgotten old friends is particularly poignant. I can’t wait to see how this plays out in the game itself.  Disney Epic Mickey comes out on November 30th exclusively for the Wii.

This game is pretty much the whole reason Disney even bought back the rights to all the old Oswald cartoons. My dad, who is a huge animation buff, was simply thrilled when they came out on DVD a few years ago. Turns out they’re pretty disturbing, actually… Oswald tears off his own foot (for luck, cuz’ he’s a rabbit, har har), gets his head shot off by a cannonball, beats up a smaller creature, etc. Cartoons in the ’10s were MESSED UP.
