“Call of Duty: Black Ops” Secret Code Cracked on YouTube

Didn’t even know there was a secret code on Call of Duty: Black Ops which reveals the secret ending? Well you do now and Techland is here to help you crack it yourself.

There has been some speculation and a few debates opened since Activision’s latest installment to the Call of Duty franchise took up its new residence inside our PS3’s and XBOX 360’s as to whether or not a secret code exists, and if so, how to crack it. 01Maverick10, the YouTube user who discovered and cracked the code, found out there was and put up an explainer video to help other gamers do the same. He suggests that at the start of each level as a part of the mission intel (FPS gamers will know that this is in the bottom left corner) there is a ‘designate code’ and a ‘transmission number’ and the key to finding the code lies here.

Firstly the ‘designate code’ is always a military phonetic (alpha, bravo, charlie etc…). Read these in order of levels using only the first letters to reveal the first part of the code, if it refers to a certain character, then you are on the right track. Now, onto the ‘transmission number’ which is always a series of numbers and dashes. Convert each number to its equal letter in the alphabet (1-A, 2-B, 3-C etc…), use the dashes as spaces and read in the level order to reveal the entire secret message.
