Google Earth Now Features Street View, 3D Trees

The latest version of Google’s free mapping software, Google Earth 6, is now available for download.

The program integrates Google Maps’ “Street View” function, allowing you to take a detailed first-person, 360-degree look at any street in the world that’s been panoramically photographed by one of the company’s Street View cars.

Three-dimensional trees make up another new addition to Google Earth. The program has touted 3D buildings in certain areas for a while now, and the newest version has added “more than 80 million trees in places such as Athens, Berlin, Chicago, New York City, San Francisco and Tokyo,” with more trees to be added over time according to Google’s blog post.
