Facebook rolls out a new design for user profiles and lets people—GASP!—opt in instead of opting out. Featured friends, improved photos, and revamped personal information top the list of what’s new.

AOL/Yahoo! Merger?

If the rumors are true, AOL “is actively exploring a breakup involving a complicated series of transactions that may lead to a merger with Yahoo Inc,” according to Reuters. AOL’s made a big push into content over the past few years, so it’s not totally out of the realm of possibility. It’s still a rumor, though.

Google Announcement Tomorrow

Google is expected to either launch the Chrome Web Store tomorrow, show off Chrome OS netbooks, or both. My vote’s on a web store announcement as more probable than netbooks, but we’ll know more tomorrow.
