Welcome to the Loadout. Our philosophy is that the working week is a recurring boss battle that you’ll need the proper weapons to take down. The supplies at hand won’t always be pretty but you might just be able to hold out until the weekend. Green means add it to your arsenal, yellow leaves it up to your discretion and red means back away slowly. With that, let’s see what we’ve got this week:

The Game: World of Warcraft: Cataclysm

Specifications: The most popular MMO around upends everything in this major expansion. When Deathwing the Destroyer returns to Azeroth, he tears open a dimensional rift that destroys much of the world and leaves everything changed in the war between Alliance and Horde.

Ideal Usage Scenario: Longtime WoW players can raise their level caps to 85 and will have new Goblin and Worgen races to explore and newbies will find a streamlined experience waiting for them. Blizzard’s arguably the best game company around right now and fresh content for WoW’s combo of story and social interaction should make Azeroth more interesting than it’s been in ages.

The Game: Tron: Evolution

Specifications: Who is that freaky clone of Flynn and why does the Grid look so different? The video game interquel for the intra-game sci-fi movie series has the answers, giving you a new character to explore the virtual landscape with and clues as to how the digital paradise got corrupted.

Ideal Usage Scenario: Evolution falls in between the original Tron and the upcoming Tron: Legacy, so pick up the game if you want to be in the know before the movie hits theaters. The third-person combat in the game should satisfy your appetite for lightcycle and disc-throwing, along with fun online multiplayer modes, too.
