Air Force Blocks Media Sites

Air Force personnel who attempt to visit certain news sites containing classified documents provided by WikiLeaks are now being greeted with ACCESS DENIED messages. Blocked sites include the New York Times, the Guardian, Le Monde, Der Speigel and others—over 25 in all. The Air Force said that it’s blocked the sites “in order to keep classified material off unclassified computer systems,” according to the Wall Street Journal.

Yahoo Lays Off 600; Free Beers and Jobs Flow

Yesterday’s rumors have been confirmed, as Yahoo laid off 600 people (about 4% of its workforce). It’s not all bad news, though. Former employees have been greeted with offers of free beer and new jobs from several companies in and around San Francisco.

Survey names Facebook best place to work

Glassdoor.com’s annual Employees’ Choice Awards found Facebook in the top spot of most desirable workplaces. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg just took the top spot on TIME’s Person of the Year list, too. Ever heard of sharing, Facebook? Sharing?

Several Apple retail stores fall victim to smash-and-grab burglaries

Several Apple stores on the East Coast have been burglarized lately. They’re simple smash-and-grab jobs thanks to Apple’s all-glass doors and table upon table of exposed merchandise. The latest burglary, which happened in New Jersey, was over in a mere 30 seconds according to the article.
