As a high school technology teacher I am working on getting the students to understand the difference between texting and e-mails…and maybe more importantly the difference between personal communications and academic / professional communications.
There is nothing wrong with “texting language” but I agree it needs to stay our of e-mails.

It is my observation that texting has caused this dilemma. Don’t get me wrong, I text when necessary, but still try to hold some semblance of what our wonderful school teachers taught us in class. Well, at least when I write e-mails.

Shouldn’t all do the same? This is a timely article.
