The inevitable is upon us: Angry Birds is going to be released on the Playstation Network this week marking the game’s first foray into the console world, according to the Playstation blog. With Rovio admitting to the BBC that they are developing a specific version of the title for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii to be released sometime this year, it’s only a matter of time before the birds take over our smartphones and our homes. Pigs everywhere, beware.

I’m kind of disappointed that we won’t be able to use the touch screen capabilities when playing the games on PSP or PS3. That’s part of what made Angry Birds so fun. However with a different way to play the game and 63 levels to get three stars in again, it’s something new to do.
