The best thing about fb is you can reconnect with all those people that you never wanted to see again. If someone is so important in your life, go see them or give them a call or write a letter and send a few pics. I have enough ways to waste what little time I have and if fb deserves credit for anything its managing to become the biggest technical timewaster since the computer itself. Now, I am getting off of here because I too, am wasting my time, but felt it important to point out how you are doing the same thing. Now, lets all go do something constructive. Like build a fort.

Okay so there are some which are silly things to write (as in notifying burglars that you’ll be away) but others are down right immoral and illegal and surely shouldn’t be done at all- on facebook or not!

How about people just thinking before posting, hey, it’s “Public” so should I not be careful about what I disclose. I am sure there’s a neat stat somewhere that says more often then not you are robbed by someone you know…I’d be interested in knowing how many divorses, break-ups and job losses FB has contributed to, is this stat public?

Facebook is like an outlet to our kept emotions. this is why most people can’t have common sense while posting things on facebook. Sadly, these can cause us harm as well..

I agree with some of the posts here. Facebook really needs to adjust their standards of privacy. That is if it is possible at all! My friend and I do not trust Facebook. I used to think that Facebook was fun since it helped me connect with old friends and distant family. But just like that post posted my real friends and family know my email address, etc.. so what does Facebook has to do with it?

Once my Orkut account was hacked. My pic was replaced, my details were re-written etc. I immediately deleted everything and updated my pic. I havent bothered to do add any other information and I dont miss it. I don’t really care if people are visiting my account or not.

I have reached a stage where, I dont really care for Orkut of Facebook but I don’t mind using it as it is a convenient way of keeping in touch. We have had 2 to 3 school, college, hostel get-together because of Facebook. I don’ think we would have ever met if not for facebok. So I do owe it a bit so I dont wish to talk dirty about it but yes it does not adversely affect my life if I choose to stay away from it.

I just started on Facebook and haven’t met many people. It’s nice to read about people and things that I’m interested in. I’m not going to buy into all that fear about people learning private information about you.

I monitor our young children’s & make them delete ‘friends’ who curse or talk about non-age appropiate things. Our adult children I deleted! The way they talk on there….. I know they have class in the right setting but if you read their post on FB…there is no way you would think they had an ounce! My husband, their father, wouldn’t hire them if he saw their FB beforehand. And we aren’t really prudish. For real, for real.

I can’t believe somebody checked in while robbing a house…. people do that?? That’s just asking to get busted! I feel like some of these things are just obvious not to do unless you really feel like you need attention or an incredible amount of comments or something.
