Almost a century after the company was created, Technicolor is moving to be at the forefront of another technological revolution. The company has announced that it will open 3D conversion units for both movies and television projects in Los Angeles, London and Bangalore.

Although Technicolor already has done some conversion work in its existing Hollywood offices, the plan is to add an all-new dedicated unit in Burbank next month, with conversion work for 2D-3D projects being shared between that office and Bangalore, while work on shot-in-3D projects would be handled by London subsidiary MPC.
