I'm not entirely sure that the movie was that far off. Obviously Time (and it's related outlets) have an interest in portraying Zuckerberg as being different from the movie (Time's Person Of The Year and their over-priced "extended" edition "The Connector"). Sure Zuckerberg isn't currently like he was in the movie but neither is Bill Gates and his rise to prominence wasn't brought about because he acted the same way he does now. I'm suspicious of why Time is so keen to make Zuckerberg and Facebook out to a saint when he's more like the rest of us: neither solely saint nor sinner but a mix of both.

The only possible explanation for Social Network taking Best Score is that the HFPA didn't bother to listen that closely to Hans Zimmer's Inception score. I'm still picking up little things that he hid in the music, and it does so much to help you through the film and even drops clues towards the actual outcome. The Social Network score could not have been integral in the same way that Inception's was, nor do I think it's as good separate from its movie.

(Sorry. I'm still angry.)
