The Three Songs You Need to Download This Week

There’s a lot of music online–more than most people have time to keep up with. That’s why you’ve got us. Every week, we’ll point you toward three excellent new downloads or videos from chart-topping stars, cult favorites and unknown geniuses.

1. Iron & Wine’s new album Kiss Each Other Clean comes out next week, but if you can’t wait for new music from the indie-folk juggernaut, they’ve archived a live video performance of the whole thing. Prefer a downloadable audio-only live recording? There’s a Daytrotter session with three new songs and one old one.

2. Nicki Minaj ruffled a few of her rivals’ feathers with “Roman’s Revenge,” her duet with Eminem on Pink Friday. Now she’s dropped a remix of it, “Roman’s Revenge 2.0,” with Lil Wayne in place of Em. If it’s not clear who they’re dissing or on what grounds, RapGenius’s exegesis of Nicki and Wayne’s lyrics may come in handy.

3. Jack White produced and played on 73-year-old rockabilly heroine Wanda Jackson’s album The Party Ain’t Over, which comes out next week. He’s also all over the first video from it: a rasping, snarling cover of Bob Dylan’s “Thunder on the Mountain,” in which Jackson changes Dylan’s references to Alicia Keys to “Jerry Lee,” as in Jerry Lee Lewis.
