The days of cord-cutting talk may be over, with analysts predicting that the number of pay TV subscribers will have grown in the final quarter of 2010 amid fears that viewers were choosing to bypass television for other methods of watching TV shows.

Verizon reported growth in its FiOS TV service earlier this week, and Time Warner Cable and AT&T are expected to follow suit later today, with final numbers becoming available by the end of the month, but estimates are that anywhere between 87,000 to 340,000 subscribers are expected to be added to pay TV numbers for Q4, with additions to satellite and telecom sources offsetting falls in traditional cable numbers. Estimates for 2011 are already beginning to suggest the growth will continue, albeit with the fall in traditional cable also continuing.
