Honestly - the App´s basically have nothing to do with Apple. The apps are also available for other tabs. the only difference is that Apple should have the ability to control which apps are available on Apples AppStore. This is precisely why Apples AppStore has the potential to be a safe heaven for us parents, compared to the internet in general.
I guess the Smurf app is also available for Bamboo tablets?

One way to advoid the 'charges' on the various 'apps' your children might use is simple. Don't waste your money on a 'I-Pad'. So many other manufactures are releasing better 'table computers' with more memory and storage for a lesser price!!

Do you have kids, and do you let them explore the world of Apple?

This is such a simple problem to solve on the user's part. If a password has been entered in a given app (including the app store app), simply double-tap the physical home button to open up the multitask bar, then press and hold the app in question until it starts shaking, then click the top left corner "X" to fully close the app. The whole process sounds much more complex than it is, it's very quick and simple. This will ensure that purchases require another password entry when the app is opened again. The problem stems from apps still being "live" in the "background" even when the app is seemingly closed; this functionality is what allows for multitasking.

I'm very glad that Apple offers this functionality, and I'm glad that the company has a tendency to ignore these extreme minority requests by people who don't understand the basics of the technology they use.

In humility, I'll add that perhaps there's something I'm missing. I'd be happy to be enlightened.
