Super Bowl Tech Ads: A List of Casualties Throughout the Years

So what’d everybody think of all the Super Bowl ads last night? While there’s been some discussion as to whether or not Groupon’s ads were the most offensive or all the ads in general have just plain stunk lately, let’s not forget all the awful, overfunded, offensive ads from years past.

Here’s a look at some of the tech-centric products and companies that spent a mint on Super Bowl air time but didn’t quite make it all the way to the finish line. Who knows? Maybe some of the companies from last nights’ ads will find their way onto this very list someday.

    Whatever happened to the good old past tenses “stank”, “sank”, and “shrank”? It started to go bad for them with “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids”, but it’s still not too late to bring them back, before the u-blight starts bleeding over into things like “rang” and “sang”.

    Yes, I’m perfectly (heh) aware that “stunk” etc. DO have appropriate uses, just not in the past tense.
