AT&T Launches Free Mobile-To-Mobile Today

Today is the day you’ve been waiting for iPhone customers: AT&T is offering free mobile-to-mobile calls to qualifying customers. (Nothing is suspicious about the company launching this new plan today… nothing at all.)

“Mobile to Any Mobile is an exciting offer that will keep our customers connected to the people they want to talk to, when they want to talk to them, without the hassle of watching minutes,” said AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets chief marketing officer David Christopher in the press release. “We’re giving customers more options and even better value.  And when you include Rollover Minutes, a benefit available exclusively from AT&T that lets customers keep their unused minutes for all domestic calls, including to landline numbers, it’s clear that AT&T offers the most flexibility in the industry.”

For $20 a month or $30 for FamilyTalk customers (up to five lines), subscribers can call any cell phone in the US for free no matter what carrier they are on. It doesn’t count against your Anytime Minutes, and all you need is an unlimited messaging plan and one of the voice plans on the list to qualify. It sounds like a good deal, but let’s hope that AT&T’s network can handle all those extra calls.
