Prepare to discover “the Swiss Army knife of cloud-based media sharing.” That’s the claim being made by Funambol CEO Amit Chawla about its new MediaHub platform, which will be officially unveiled at next week’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Chawla describes the service, which will allow users to sync music, video, photos and other data between mobile devices, as “help[ing] carriers re-energize customer relationships by becoming the trusted vault for their mobile digital assets.”

According to Chawla, MediaHub will wirelessly sync “virtually any data across any device,” and also connects with other cloud services such as Facebook, Flickr and Picasa. The service is scheduled to launch during the second quarter of this year.
