Decks App Aims To Make Shopping Even Easier

The iPad has already changed the magazine, newspaper and comic book industries, so what print industries are left…? Oh, yeah; catalogs. Luckily, now there’s an app for that.

Cooliris is launching Decks, an app that will allow uses to build their own personalized catalogs from favorite brands, with each brand automatically updating to show new promotions, products or deals (Also, it oddly supports Flickr). To hear Cooliris CEO Soujanya Bhumkar explain it, Decks was only a matter of time:

“Today what happens is, I get one big catalog. It is not customized to my experience. People think one size fits all. The truth is one size fits none.

Surprisingly, for an app that exists to convince its users to buy things, Decks has little provider buy-in at this point; only five companies have signed on, and only one of those is an actual producer as opposed to resellers (Zappos). Clearly, one size may fit none, but until Cooliris follows through on its plan to partner with more companies, it’s unsure whether Decks will fit much of anyone, either.

The app is available for download here.
