Yes, what you are looking at is an anthropomorphic toy that reads your Twitter updates aloud for you. And yes, you want one.
Its name is Twimal, and once jacked into your computer he or she will chirp out your latest tweets and replies, the always-important tweets from users you deem worthy, and even items from selected user lists. Twimal Blue is the macho one, utilizing a male voice; Twimal White will woo you with more feminine vocal stylings. Feel free to plug them both in simultaneously and trigger the Singularity.
Twimal was hatched by the folks at Takara Tomy, who apparently have a bit too much free time on their hands. It will be available in Japan on March 31, and thus appropriate for smuggling into the U.S. shortly thereafter. Or, as our friends at CrunchBase point out, you can always check specialized online stores such as GeekStuff4U and Rinkya.
One note: Twimal, like all sentient beings, struggles with bigotry. It is currently available only for Windows XP, Windows 7, and Vista. A Mac intervention is no doubt on the horizon, however, and let’s all wish Twimal luck in overcoming his demons.
