Android users can celebrate with another victory. After a long-awaited wait, the LinkedIn app has finally become available for the Android Marketplace. Now it’s possible to schmooze and network on the go.
Although the beta app launched back in December, the functionality was limited to very few features. Thankfully, the official version adds more to the pack. There’s six main parts of the app: Updates, Search, Connections, Invitations, Messages and Reconnect.
If you’re already a LinkedIn user, all the different aspects of the app will make sense to you. I mean, what else do you use the message function for? Searching? Speaking of the devil, the search feature is also unified with your phone’s contacts, parsing and suggesting any people who may help land you your next gig.
LinkedIn has about 100 million users to date, and apps already exist on iPhone and BlackBerry for the social networking site. Best better late than never.
