I perfectly agree with this review. Portal 2 was the only game I was looking forward to this year, and I look forward to the DLC coming out this summer. I like how people decide to dis a game without even having played it, because that is as fair as a person can get (sarcasm). Valve has NEVER released a bad game, and they made some of the best shooters out there. They have NO need to pay anyone to say anything for them. I put it on my list of best video games in the top 3, if not at #1.

@unkopoop

Perhaps they should've said most anticipated game of the year for anyone over the age of 13 (heck Skyrim is the only game on your list that even looks good, Crysis was sold completely on graphics so I don't see how the second is going to possibly be your GOTY)?

Also many of the games you listed will probably not be worth 60 dollars (those of us on the PC do not have to spend that much and have the better playing experience) and the first Portal was worth more than the earlier games in those series.

Also I've never even HEARD of Shift 1 let alone Shift 2.

Portal 2 is a better experience than every game series you listed combined (and I'm someone who's probably spent a hundred hours or more in the Elder Scrolls games). I'm actually jealous of the people who have yet to play the game because I would love to play through again with everything being new to me. I've already played through four times in less than a week, the game is THAT good.

@hobocore71

"Slightly longer" isn't really accurate - it's about twice as long, and probably longer if someone were to get stuck on some of the puzzles.

@alakazam9891

I spy someone who hasn't played Portal 2 yet.

HAHA, @ Hostile Sausage, just because you don't kill anyone and the game isn't called COD/Gears of War etc and isn't repetitive and generic like half the market means you won't even regard what is probably the best game I have ever played because you have some sort of insignificant upcoming game that will pale in comparison to this?

Having just beaten Portal 2, and loving the first, I can safely say this game is both wonderful and worth the money. The one-player campaign is slightly longer than the first, but I feel like it will have more replay value. I only beat it a day after because I put in a lot of time yesterday and today, not necessarily because of the time put in. The puzzles were either easier or it's easier to play if you're really familiar with physics, not sure which. There is a lot of stuff in the co-op that adds more to it.
The most impressive thing is that I was so worried they were ruining their own atmosphere and mythology every time they did something, but they made every right decision about how to proceed. The characters are just as interesting and funny. Also, more of a story available here and lots to think about.

WOW. big warning sign: "Easily the most anticipated release this year" ARE YOU KIDDING?!?!?! its maybe number 8 or 9 on my list this year. Duke Nukum is probably #1. probably not going to be the best game, but most anticipated for sure. I don't like Gears, but that is more anticipated. Other games I antipate more. Crysis 2 (GOTY imo). Elder Scrolls 5. Shift 2. the list goes on and on. Portal 2. most anticipated. hardly. I loved the 1st. I think a lot of people did. but it was a 10$ game. I think many people including myself are worried that portal 2 will not be able to give us a 60$ experience. Hoping it will.... but not sure. so not highly anticipated. Highly worried that they deliver more like it, but it seems they have.
