*Sigh* I think it's important to talk about what we're doing to our environment, but as usual, Greenpeace tries to accomplish their goals through fear mongering. In many ways, they're just as bad as the climate change deniers.

What the hell are you smoking that you think the Japan nuclear disaster had anything to do with our modern insatiable need for power? This plant was online before Mark Zuckerberg was even born, and the disaster was a result of a Tsunami, not someone posting pictures of their cat on the internet...

Hello. Daniel from Greenpeace here. We certainly did not ever refer to Apple or anyone else as unethical. What we did try to communicate with our report is that we love IT and we know that as a sector it can do better to increase their use of renewable energy while decreasing their demand for dirty coal power and dangerous nuclear power.

IT is central to combating climate change. We need their solutions, such as smart grids and smart meters. But we also need them to choose renewable energy over carbon based fuels.

Our full report is up at www.greenpeace.org/coolit.

If you actually believe coal is a clean power source, you are greatly mistaken. 'Clean coal' is the biggest crock of the century. It was relabeled after big oil took over the industry, and started profiting from the proceeds.
