It’s beginning to seem as if Google can’t help itself investing in green technologies. Not only has it decided to build a tower of solar power-collecting goodness and invested $100 million in an Oregonian wind farm, now the company has signed a power purchase agreement for wind energy in Oklahoma.

The agreement is for all power produced by the NextEra Energy Resources Minco II facility for the next 20 years, which will be applied to Google’s data center in nearby Mayes County. Google’s Gary Demasi explains the decision on the official Google blog as being part of the company’s commitment to be a carbon neutral company, saying that the power purchase represents “long-term, meaningful actions to reduce our carbon footprint and power our operations with clean electricity.” Both the data center and wind facility should be fully operational by the end of this year, he reports.
