Endeavour Friday Launch Scrapped, Next Shot Not Until Sunday

Bummer, it looks like the space shuttle Endeavour’s Friday afternoon launch has been called off, last minute, due to technical issues.

According to NASA:

Shuttle Launch Director Mike Leinbach has scrubbed today’s STS-134 launch attempt because of an issue associated with Auxiliary Power Unit 1 heaters. There will be at least a 48-hour scrub turnaround while engineers assess the issue. NASA Television will air a news conference later this afternoon.

That’s all we know for now, but we’ll update as soon as NASA airs the news conference and gives us the lowdown.

I know, “boo-hiss.” Except for the part where “hooray, saving lives!”
