New Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D Trailer Teases High-Def Link

I have a shameful confession to make: I’ve never finished The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The furthest I’ve been? The water temple. That’s the three-quarters mark, true, but it might as well be the start, in view of the raves lavished on this game (you know, like “best game ever made in the history of civilization and frankly time immemorial, amen”).

My failure to follow through had nothing to do with my affection for game, the game just got away from me somehow, and by the point I turned back, it was too late–we were on to stuff like The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess (both of which I did finish, for the record).

Needless to say, the forthcoming Nintendo 3DS version of Ocarina of Time (also, needless to say in full 3D) is perched tip-top my playlist. Have a look at the latest teaser trailer:

What’s more, I get to see it start to finish for the first time when it’s released on June 19th this year. As they say, every slightly pixellated lovingly-offbeat-Japanese-style-fantasy cloud has a silver lining.

So I’m Mormon and we got this book called the Book of Mormon and we’ve got these kids called Missionaries and sometimes they face dangerous situations and are attacked and shot and stuff. So there’s this joke about a Missionary getting shot that goes like this (I have a relevant point I promise), one time two missionaries were out tracting when they were approached by a mugger. Now missionaries are taught to comply with a muggers requests so as not to get injured. Something went wrong during the course of this mugging and one of the missionaries was shot, after which the mugger fled. The shot missionary’s companion came to the shot missionaries aid, only to discover that the missionary was unharmed. In disbelief, the shot missionary produced a copy of the Book of Mormon from his coat pocket which had a bullet in it and he commented, “Man, nothing gets through second Nephi!”. Second Nephi being notorious for being long, dense and boring.

Well Mr. Peckham, the Water Temple is OoT’s 2nd Nephi, nothing gets through the water temple. My sister-in-law bought a 3DS this week and was saying how excited she was to play OoT again, but then remembered that she had recently dusted off her N64 to play it, but when she booted it up she realized that all of the save files were at the water temple. Good luck!

Brilliantly put, tyrantking, and I’ll take that as indication I’ll be playing OoT’s ’2nd Nephi’ with a walkthrough to hand.

Incidentally, this story had a botched embed code all weekend (my bad). Fixed (with apologies), and trailer visibility thus enabled.
