Sanyo Air Purifier: $100 at Woot (today only)

Sanyo_Air_Washer_Air_PurifiersgrDetail

We always mention air and water as two essential elements. So clean, so pure, so… competitive with each other. That’s right—the truth of the matter is that air and water have been embroiled in a near-constant battle of one-upsmanship that’s been waging since time immemorial.

The latest punch thrown: water says it can clean the air. Pffft. Air. So dirty—get with the program, air. You don’t ever hear about water being dirty, do you? DO YOU?!! Oh, right. Water pollution. Let’s move on.

At any rate, the Sanyo ABC-VW24A air purification system can be had for a meager $100, today only. The same system sells for at least double elsewhere and uses electrolyzed water to ward off airborne germs and bacteria. It also reduces pollen and neutralizes odors as well.

Well hello there, inexpensive laptop. I see you’ve brought your friends Core i3 Intel processor and $370 price tag to the party. What? You can’t stay too long? That’s too bad. Let’s dispense with the pleasantries, then.

Here’s a Core i3 laptop with three gigabytes of RAM, a 250-gigabyte hard drive and a DVD burner. The system weighs less than 5.5 pounds and measures less than 1.5 inches thick. The same machine sells for about $100 more elsewhere but you can get it for $370, today only.

iSymphony 32-inch LED-backlit TV: $294 at Amazon

The lady on the TV screen up there looks familiar. Like, she looks famous but I know she isn’t famous, but she’s meant to look famous. Even the pose looks like a memorable pose. I can’t quite put my finger on it and all it’s done is distract me from the fact that this 32-inch LED-backlit TV is selling for less than $300, which in and of itself is far more important than that lady.

While it’s not impossible to find a 32-inch LED-backlit TV for under $300, it’s hard to find one with a full 1080p resolution and a weight of just 11 pounds. Best Buy, for instance, is selling a 32-inch LED-backlit TV for $299 this week but it’s only got a 720p resolution and it weighs 20 pounds.

This one weighs 11 pounds. Eleven pounds! You could mount this thing on a shower curtain (note: don’t mount this thing on a shower curtain).

Toshiba 15.6-inch laptop: $350 at Best Buy

Best Buy is selling the 15.6-inch Toshiba L755 for just $350 this week. That’s less than 100 domestic draft beers from a moderately-priced bar located in a medium-sized city! Michelob! Yum?

This is not the greatest laptop in the world but it gets the job done, as the saying goes. There’s a two-gigahertz processor, four gigabytes of RAM, 320-gigabyte hard drive and a DVD burner. Battery life is good for around five hours, and the computer weighs 5.7 pounds. Oooh, and it’s ensconced in a “fusion finish in matrix silver for a stylish look.”

Philips 40-inch 1080p TV: $500 at Walmart

While it’s not available in stores, you can order it online and have it shipped to the nearest store for free pickup. So it’s kind of like getting it at the store except you don’t have to try to load a giant box into your shopping cart.

Anyway, this 40-inch Philips TV has three big things going for it: a full 1080p resolution, a 240Hz refresh rate, and a $500 price tag. The same set sells new elsewhere for north of $700 once you factor in shipping and tax.
