Remember 20 years ago when people would be like, “Hey, guys, who wants to watch the Quebec Nordiques game on my new 32-inch TV?! It’s huge!”
Nowadays if you have a 32-inch TV, people feel bad for you. That’s the brilliance of technology—making people feel bad about themselves for not owning something that, 20 years ago, would have made your wood-paneled living room the place to be for all the neighborhood.
What I’m trying to get at is that a 60-inch TV is still plenty big by today’s standards. Also, Best Buy is selling one for $800 this week. That’s not a lot of moolah for a 60-inch TV, which means you can make your friends feel doubly bad. Big TV + good deal = jealous friends. It’s science.
