The iPhone 4S will be available for pre-order on October 7, with a launch date of October 14th. Also of note: the iPhone 4S works as a world phone and sports a new antenna system that can intelligently switch between two cell towers for better call quality and faster data download speeds—up to 14.4 Mbps under ideal conditions, according to Apple, versus the iPhone 4’s 7.2 Mbps maximum throughput. Furthermore, the iPhone 4S has exclusive access to the new "Siri" intelligent voice system.

Also, you may not see the 8GB, $99 iPhone 4 at various retailers until the iPhone 4S starts rolling out.
