1.8 Million

A new report reveals that Research in Motion lost 1.8 million BlackBerry subscribers in the third quarter of the year, marking a 10% drop in subscriber numbers despite the release of the new BlackBerry 7 towards the end of that period. The ComScore report also saw a drop for RIM in terms of smartphone share, from 23.5% to 18.9%, despite smartphone usage in the US growing 12% to 87.4 million people in the three months to the end of September.
