Facebook to Go Opt-In for New Privacy Changes?

The Wall Street Journal reports about a FTC and Facebook settlement that would require “Facebook to obtain users’ consent” whenever it made notable changes to its privacy policies.

Steam Hacked

Valve’s popular game download site Steam was hacked, resulting in unauthorized access to a database that “contained information including user names, hashed and salted passwords, game purchases, email addresses, billing addresses and encrypted credit card information.” Valve’s Gabe Newell says, “We don’t have evidence of credit card misuse at this time. Nonetheless you should watch your credit card activity and statements closely.”

iPhone Battery Life Fixed or Not?

Yesterday’s iOS 5.0.1 update was supposed to fix problems some  iPhone and iPad users were having with comically short battery life, but reports are rolling in that the problems still persist.

Logitech Regrets Google TV Box

One of the first Google TV boxes out of the gate last year was Logitech’s “Revue”—the box initially sold for $300 but has since been discounted to $100. Logitech CEO Guerrino De Luca remarked that last year’s holiday launch of the Revue and its $300 price tag “was a big mistake.”
