53%

A recent Pew study reveals, “On any given day, 53% of all the young adults ages 18-29 go online for no particular reason except to have fun or to pass the time.” The internet, in case you hadn’t noticed, is becoming quite the time waster. This “no particular reason” usage has increased for all adults overall, buoyed by people in the 18-29 and 30-49 age groups, which both saw increases in internet time wasting since last year. Users in the 50-64 and 65+ age groups, however, have been wasting less time online than they did last year.
