Just how worried were Android smartphone users that their every move may have been tracked by Carrier IQ keystroke-monitoring software? Worried enough that an app designed to detect whether or not the software was active on your phone, Francois Simond’s Voodoo Carrier IQ Detector, was downloaded and installed more than 150,000 times in the three days since its debut in the Android Market last Friday. If that’s not enough sign of user concern, a second app offering a similar service, mobile security company’s Lookout’s Carrier IQ Detector has logged an additional 50,000 downloads since its appearance in the Market this weekend.
